New additions: Cadbury Dairy Milk Eclairs and Crunchie Chunk Pouch | |
INTERNATIONAL. Confectionery brand Cadbury showcased its Cadbury Dairy Milk Chunk Pouch range with a line extension and fresh design at the TFWA World Exhibition in Cannes last week.
The two new additions – Eclairs and Crunchie – will join the existing Cadbury Dairy Milk Chunk, Cadbury Dairy Milk Wholenut, Cadbury Dairy Milk Caramel and Cadbury Dairy Milk Fruit & Nut products. All six variants will make their debut in travel retail, with redesigned packaging, in February.
The “˜pouch pack’ concept was born out of Cadbury’s shopper insight programme and is based on customers’ needs for products sized for snacking and sharing inflight or on the go, the company said.
The Chunk Pouch range was redesigned with two objectives: to capitalise on the souvenir shopping opportunity and to bring more practicality to consumers who seek ease of display on-shelf. “Pack design has been sympathetic to consumers in travel retail, with a block bottom bag format with handles to make product display possible both on-shelf and off shelf hooks. As a consequence, clarity of display will entice more customers to the shelves and results in increased sales,” the company claimed.
Cadbury General Manager Steve Brock said: “Confectionery is universally popular with travellers thanks to its versatility; be it a personal treat or a souvenir gift for friends and family. We know the range extension and new design for Cadbury Dairy Milk Chunk Pouch will propel the brand further within the sector and capture more customers as a consequence. 2009 is set to be a very successful year for the range.”
