Bvlgari, Gebr Heinemann and ATÜ Duty Free partner in new Istanbul Airport mega-boutique

TURKEY. Bvlgari has opened a new stand-alone boutique at Istanbul Airport, in a Trinity collaboration with Gebr Heinemann and ATÜ Duty Free.

At 115 sqm, the new boutique is the Italian luxury brand’s largest European travel retail store. The official opening celebration will be held on 16 October.

‘Sculpting beauty in all its forms’: The design of the new Bvlgari boutique takes inspiration from the brand’s Italian heritage and craftsmanship

Bvlgari has described the new boutique as ‘a piece of Rome at the very heart of Istanbul airport’.

The new retail concept takes inspiration from the brand’s rich Italian heritage and 130-year history by utilising some of Bvlgari’s most recognisable colours, motifs, and materials. The layout has been fashioned like a Roman temple.

Some notable design elements include the Condotti showcases, Imperial Saffron shantung silk, marble pillars, and a Murano glass chandelier. The boutique also features a VIP lounge, a first in travel retail.

According to the brand, the VIP area was created based on the design of the original ‘Elizabeth Taylor Lounge’ or the ‘Il Salottino Taylor’ – a lounge that became known as the Hollywood actress’s safe haven from the paparazzi.

The VIP Lounge was designed after The Elizabeth Taylor Lounge in Rome
The Elizabeth Taylor Lounge was accessed through a secret door at the Palazzo Maruscelli-Lepri, and became known as the Hollywood actress’s safe haven from the paparazzi.
