Bulgari and Dufry open a new Roman Temple at London Heathrow

The Trinity at work: The Roman-inspired flagship is a partnership between Bulgari, Dufry and Heathrow Airport

UK. Roman luxury house Bulgari has partnered with Dufry and Heathrow Airport to open a new boutique at London Heathrow Airport Terminal 3.

The 91sq m store was designed by Italian Interior Designer Peter Marino and celebrates Bulgari’s rich Roman heritage. It offers the maison’s watches, jewellery and leathergoods lines.

One of the boutique’s key features is a private VIP room where guests can try on the house’s fine watches and jewellery pieces. The VIP lounge was designed to mimic the ‘Il Salottino Taylor’ or Elizabeth Taylor Lounge – which was the famous American actress’s lounging room in the Bulgari Condotti boutique in Rome, where she would escape from the paparazzi and shop Bulgari’s collections.

Where Rome meets London: The flagship is a celebration of Bulgari’s Roman culture and savoir-faire, from material selection to product offer

“Today, with Dufry and Heathrow Airport, our long-lasting partners, we are proud to celebrate this new Bulgari Temple,” commented Bulgari Travel Retail Europe Managing Director Jonathan Brinbaum.

“Despite these historically challenging times for travel retail, we have been able to build and open the boutique. It is an important testimony to the strength of the tripartite agreement we are currently in and the confidence of the travel retail rebound.

“Built to welcome the passengers of Heathrow and to share with them the Bulgari joy of crafting gemstones and to offering a unique experience in a prestigious VIP room, this new flagship is the perfect expression of Bulgari’s Roman DNA and savoir-faire. We are thus truly confident in the future of this new incredible space, where Rome meets London.”

To celebrate the opening, Bulgari has released a limited-edition Serpenti Forever bag exclusively at Heathrow Airport The cross body bag is crafted in calf leather and features a Carmine Jasper colourway. The bag is styled with brass light gold plated hardware and an internal metal tag. It also features a snake-shaped adjustable chain with leather strap.

Bulgari’s signature snakehead clasp has been reimagined with a full Carmine Jasper matt head with black onyx eyes. Only 50 pieces of the limited style has been produced exclusively for Bulgari’s boutiques at Heathrow Airport.

The Serpenti Forever bag received a red makeover to celebrate the opening. Just 50 pieces of the style were produced exclusively for Dufry and Heathrow Airport.

Dufry UK CEO Fred Creighton added, “The creation of this unique Bulgari store is the result of a close collaboration between ourselves, Bulgari and Heathrow Airport – and as such it’s a great example of a Trinity approach. Heathrow Terminal 3 is the ideal location to showcase an exciting range of luxurious products from such an iconic and sought-after brand as Bulgari and we have had very positive feedback from our customers.”
