Brisbane Airport issues RFPs for retail and dining concessions in Domestic Terminal

AUSTRALIA. Brisbane Airport Corporation (BAC) has issued Requests for Proposals (RFP) for key retail and dining locations as part of a A$40 million (US$30 million) redevelopment of the northern end of its Domestic Terminal, which serves Qantas flights. Categories include food & beverage, fashion & accessories plus news, books and travel essentials.

Works will commence in April 2018. When complete in December 2020, the project will deliver 70 shops, including 51 new or refurbished retail outlets, an upgraded food court, views across the apron and tarmac and more natural lighting.

Guiding the direction of this project is a focus on establishing a distinct Sense of Place showcasing the lifestyle, design and culture of Brisbane and Queensland.

Brisbane Airport’s Domestic Terminal: The airport aims to attract interest from local, regional and international potential partners for its latest commercial tenancies

Opportunity 1: Premium Fashion, Beauty and Accessories

BAC is seeking a “premium retail partner” for one flagship location on Level 2, airside (Qantas departures) at the top of the escalators. This prominent location adjoins the Qantas food court which will be refurbished as part of the redevelopment. The RFP is launched today, Friday 22 December, and will close at 4pm on Thursday 1 February 2018.

Opportunity 2: News, Books and Travel Essentials concessions

Under this RFP there will be a total of nine retail concessions located across the entire terminal including three on Level 1 (two landside and one airside), with the remaining six located airside on Level 2.

The RFP commences on 22 December and will close at 4pm on Friday 9 March 2018.

Opportunity 3: Premium F&B

BAC is seeking a partner for a prominent location on Level 2, airside in the Northern Food Court. This will be the first outlet in the food court to be refurbished as part of the upgrade.

Further RFP’s will be released early in 2018 as part of this redevelopment.
