Baltona Duty Free awarded concessions for 14 outlets at Warsaw Chopin Airport

POLAND. Baltona Duty Free, a subsidiary of Flemingo International, has been awarded concessions for 14 retail outlets at Warsaw Chopin Airport.

In a huge boost for the company, Baltona will open four duty free shops, three fashion boutiques and seven confectionery, tobacco and news (CTN) outlets across both terminals under nine-year contracts. [We’ll bring you further analysis of this story in a future report].

Promising a memorable experience: How the entrance to the main 1,200sq m duty free shop will look

The first shops will open this summer, and the remainder in early 2019. The units will embrace a total surface area of nearly 3,000sq m, including the main 1,200sq m duty free shop.

The Baltona Duty Free shops will feature core categories with the largest areas dedicated to perfume & cosmetics. Confectionery and liquor will also feature, plus travel and fashion accessories. The fashion boutiques, including the newly developed non-Schengen fashion shop, will offer a curated range of apparel and accessories. The CTN categories will cover press and books, souvenirs and a range of Polish products.

Baltona Duty Free said it was aiming to showcase the beauty of Warsaw and its surroundings in a new way

“Baltona has turned from being a local operator in the early 1990s to a recognised European brand present in nine European countries,” said Baltona Group CEO Piotr Kazimierski.

“We have recently won two duty free concessions in Wroclaw and Tallinn which are due to open soon. Both are built using the new Baltona shop design, with a strong focus on Sense of Place.

“I am sure we shall surprise and delight passengers in Warsaw with a memorable experience, showcasing the beauty of the city and the surroundings in a new way, and contributing to the importance and growth of Warsaw Airport. We have a customised approach and focus on the individual needs of local partners.”
