IRELAND/CANADA. Aer Rianta International (ARI) has named Jackie McDonagh as General Manager of ARI North America and Martin Carpenter as General Manager of ARI Ireland.
McDonagh replaces Seamus Holmes who has resigned from ARI North America to pursue a new opportunity in Ireland. Carpenter takes up the role of General Manager ARI Ireland vacated by McDonagh.
McDonagh joined ARI Ireland as Head of Retail in July 2014. She was later promoted to General Manager. The company noted her role on growing the business, and said she led the team to a number of notable achievements, including the refurbishment of Terminal 1 Dublin Airport. Her influence also helped ARI win Best Airport Retailer at the Frontier Awards and The Moodie Davitt Report Dreamstore award, noted ARI.
A Dublin native, Carpenter has a track record of downtown retail experience, having previously held senior positions with the Rubicon Group, Arcadia Group and M&S.
McDonagh said: “I have thoroughly enjoyed working in Ireland and I am very proud of all our achievements. I’d like to thank my team, my ARI colleagues, our brand partners and all my colleagues in Dublin and Cork Airports for their tremendous support. I am excited about the next chapter in my ARI career and look forward to working alongside our team in Canada.”
Carpenter said: “I am delighted to join ARI, and look forward to building on the solid foundations that Jackie and the team have established. I would describe myself as a career retailer and greatly look forward to working with the ARI team and the wider daa family.”
