Areas unveils first Las Muns travel concept at Madrid-Atocha station

SPAIN. Travel restaurateur and retailer Areas has opened the first Las Muns establishment to be based in a travel setting at Madrid-Atocha station.

The 17sq m pop-up food & beverage concept has a staple offering of empanadas (a Latin American pastry turnover) including meat, vegetarian and vegan options.

The Las Muns chain was founded in Barcelona by two Argentines, who Areas said have redefined classic Argentine empanadas by merging them with other culinary cultures

The new opening at the Spanish capital’s largest railway station is the fifth for Las Muns in Madrid and adds to a portfolio which also features 15 eateries in the Barcelona area, its main market.

Areas said that Las Muns’ business model is based on small premises with efficient operation and a product that is easy to handle, cook and serve.

Other Areas F&B concepts at Madrid-Atocha station including COMO, Mahoudrid, Rodilla and Farine are currently undergoing refurbishment works.
