SPAIN. Areas has opened a La Place outlet at Adolfo Suárez Madrid Barajas Airport. It is the first opening for the brand in Spain.

The food & beverage and travel retail company will follow it by launching La Place in Barcelona–El Prat Airport soon.

Express selection: La Place at Adolfo Suárez Madrid-Barajas comes in a grab and go format

La Place offers a selection of natural and healthy products created with fresh, seasonal ingredients, Areas said. Dishes are prepared in full view of diners. There are currently some 90 La Place outlets across the world, with many in airports.

In Madrid, the 146sq m La Place outlet is in an express, grab and go format. Staff at the new unit have trained in the La Place Food College in the Netherlands to ensure they are fully immersed in the brand’s philosophy.

The Madrid menu features healthy specialities as well as a range of sandwiches, salads, soups, snacks and desserts based on fresh fruits and vegetables or dairy products. A coffee shop offers pastries, fresh fruit, yoghurts with different toppings such as cereals and fruits, focaccias, smoothie bowls and freshly made natural fruit juice and smoothies.

Areas currently operates 50 outlets with 26 different brands at Adolfo Suárez Madrid-Barajas.
