SWITZERLAND. Autogrill Schweiz has partnered with leisure airline Edelweiss for the opening of a new café at Zurich Airport.
Edelweiss Café is located pre-security in front of boarding pass control in Zurich Airport’s Check-in 1. The “light and modern” café aims to bring the airline’s hospitality from the skies to home soil, and provide a space to “meet, share and be inspired”.
The menu is modelled on the flavours of the holiday destinations served by Edelweiss, and includes dishes such as ‘Mykonos Salad’, ‘Edinburgh Quiche’ and ‘Ciabatta Rio’. A range of beverages are also available, with a bar one of the key features of the café.
There is seating for 100 guests and integrated power sockets are available so travellers can charge their electronic devices before travel.
“We are excited to collaborate with Edelweiss and to be a part of the ‘Edelweiss Café’,” said Autogrill Schweiz Chief Operating Officer Maximilian Schiedt. “Our promise is to serve the best Italian coffee in Zurich Airport.”
Edelweiss Chief Commercial Officer Patrick Heymann commented: “The new ‘Edelweiss Café’ is an oasis in Zurich Airport, designed as a venue of emotions and to set the holiday mood. Our guests can immerse into the world of Edelweiss as they watch breathtaking videos of our lovely destinations shown on the café’s extra-large screen.
“The décor also includes various display cabinets showcasing a host of original holiday souvenirs for guests to admire and marvel at. The café is a place to escape the daily grind and to delve into a holiday atmosphere.”
Guests with a boarding pass for an Edelweiss flight will receive a -10% discount on their order on the day of their flight, until the end of March 2020.
