US wellness brand Me Care has developed a Kentucky bourbon-infused range of bodycare products.
With a “and you thought bourbon was just for drinking” tagline, the products include a Bluegrass Bourbon Body Scrub and Bootleg Body Butter. They are featured in travel retail at Louisville International Airport and at Lexington’s Blue Grass Airport.
Me Care claims to offer an “authentic Kentucky bourbon experience, which provides an intoxicating twist” to traditional bath, body and wellness products.
Me Care Bourbon-Infused Bodyline Founder and CEO Melissa Happel said: “We promise to bring our vision to the international community by producing a luxury line of body care that infuses the essence of bourbon.
“Our products celebrate Kentucky’s distilling history and are handcrafted with the same connoisseurship that a master distiller shows to a barrel of bourbon.”
Happel, who has worked for over 25 years in the salon and spa industry, said her passion for quality products inspired her to create a “new avenue for a health-conscious and socially-responsible celebration of Kentucky’s finest bourbon”.
She noted statistics which indicate the US market for beauty and personal care will reach approximately US$93.5 billion in 2019. Other figures indicate that the bourbon industry in Kentucky alone is valued at US$8.6 billion.
The continued expansion of the bourbon industry sparked Happel’s vision to create a “bourbon experience that reaches far beyond the palate”.
“This trend, in tandem with the US’s ever-thriving beauty industry, was an untapped combination that Happel could not ignore,” Me Care stated.
Me Care said it uses simple ingredients which are easily recognised for their natural benefits; handcrafting each batch ensures that quality is not compromised.
Me Care infuses Kentucky bourbon into its Bluegrass Bourbon Body Scrub and other Bourbon Bliss body products which include 3-in-1 Whisked Sugar Scrub Wash, Bootleg Body Butter and Midnight Moon Moisturizer.
The Bluegrass Bourbon Body Scrub was featured in CNN Travel as one of the “top 10 spa treatments spiked with booze”.
