Alpina blends Swiss heritage and modernism in latest smartwatch

Swiss sports watch specialist Alpina has unveiled an AlpinerX Smart Outdoors timepiece.

The smartwatch is available in four models, and launches in travel retail at this year’s TFWA World Exhibition and Conference in Cannes.

Alpina described its latest timepiece as a blend of the brand’s Swiss heritage and modernism, a style which differs from classical and traditional forms.

The AlpinerX Smart Outdoors watch uses advanced measurement functions based on environmental sensors: UV, temperature, altitude, pressure and direction. The functions are measured in real time by the watch and noted on the digital display along with date, activity, stopwatch and other time recording functions.

The timepiece uses the horological smartwatch platform. It tracks activities, records and analyses sleep patterns and notifies the user of missed calls and messages.

AlpineX Smart Outdoors comes in four colours and will launch in travel retail at the TFWA World Exhibition & Conference in Cannes later this year.

The watch’s parameters are configured through Bluetooth Smart technology, which logs all measurement data and displays it on graphs.

Alpina introduced the first connected Swiss-made Horological Smartwatch in 2015. The company said its mission was to “design and engineer luxury sport watches that operate with the greatest precision and reliability possible in the most demanding sporting environments”.
