US. Airport ecommerce platform Grab has delivered five million food orders, passing the milestone with a sale placed through the American Airlines App at Dallas Fort Worth International Airport (DFW). American Airlines was Grab’s first airline partner, while DFW was the platform’s first airport partner.
Grab provides contactless order and payment services to airport food & beverage operators. It includes a mobile marketplace, Grab App, order-at-table and kiosk elements.
Grab recently introduced touch-free order-at-table technology at DFW and also expanded marketplace solutions with the launch of the DFW Market. The platform offers travellers a seamless ecommerce shopping experience on DFWOrderNow.com without having to download the Grab app.
“It’s fantastic to be able to announce that we’ve hit five million orders,” said Grab Chief Experience Officer Jeff Livney. “Our goal has always been to enhance the airport experience by providing efficient and stress-free ways to order food and beverage and we are pleased that Grab’s flexible solutions are helping our airport partners address additional challenges at this difficult time.”
Livney added, “With American Airlines being our first airline partner and DFW Airport the first partner to launch Grab’s Marketplace, this is a great achievement for us all. It also demonstrates that a partnership approach and true collaboration, which are always important, can yield good commercial results even in such a tough market.”

“As the first airport partner of Grab, we are proud to see the five millionth order happen at DFW,” added Dallas Fort Worth International Airport EVP of Customer Experience and Revenue Management Ken Buchanan. “Now more than ever, we are working hard to enable as contactless an airport experience as possible. Through the recent expansion of our Grab programme into retail and launch of DFWOrderNow.com, we look forward to serving more guests through our digital programmes.”
As reported, Grab ventured into airport retail for the first time through a partnership with 3Sixty Duty Free at Dallas Fort Worth International Airport last month. The new service enables travellers to pre-order from 3Sixty’s range of travel retail products, either for collection in-store or be delivered at the gate via the Grab platform.
