A seasonal success: Accolade Wines and Lotte Duty Free join forces in Australasian promotion

Accolade Wines has hailed the results of a seasonal promotional campaign with Lotte Duty Free across selected Australasian airports.

Accolade was the sole wine supplier in activations which offered travellers the opportunity to win one of 12 Mini cars from November 2018 to February 2019.

Last year Accolade partnered with JR/Duty Free, whose regional interests were acquired by Lotte Duty Free in a deal that closed on 31 December, in campaigns over the Christmas and Lunar New Year period.

Accolade supplied all the wines in the promotions with Lotte Duty Free, which included the opportunity to win Mini cars.

The activations were staged across airports in Brisbane, Darwin and Wellington, and online.

Accolade used a red and gold Chinese New Year-inspired theme in promotional materials across its brands, among them Grant Burge, Arras, St Hallett, Hardys, Petaluma, Stonier and Croser.

A pop-up space at Brisbane Airport enabled travellers to read tasting notes for each wine and to ‘Explore the Best of Australian Wine’ before heading through into the main shopping area of the airport.

Brand Ambassadors were also on hand throughout the promotions.

Accolade Wines Global Travel Retail Commercial Director Rupert Firbank said: “Feedback has been hugely positive and the premium wines have sold exceptionally well.

“Australia as a whole continues to be one of Accolade’s heartlands, and special features like this promotion allows our wine brands to really stand out to millions of passengers of all nationalities.”

Lotte Duty Free Oceania Liquor Buyer Nicole Dowling added: “We are proud to partner again with Accolade Wines for our biggest promotion of the year.

“Accolade Wines are able to provide a diverse range of Australian products that appeal to a diverse range of passengers. Their support at this time and throughout the year is invaluable.”
