ITALY/CHINA. Italian luxury brand Bvlgari, Starboard Cruise Services and Costa Cruises have partnered to produce the Bvlgari Jewelry Fashion Show onboard the recently launched Costa Venezia.
As reported, the new ship is dedicated to a Chinese client base and will sail from its new homeport of Shanghai from May. The Moodie Davitt Report attended the naming ceremony recently, and will bring you a full feature on the project in our March print edition shortly.
Hailed by the partners as the first production of its kind at sea, the Bvlgari Jewelry Fashion Show is described as “an evening of elegance and glamour” and makes a direct connection the Bvlgari boutique onboard.
Billed as “a multisensory experience”, the Bvlgari Jewelry Fashion Show first debuted on Costa Serena. The show onboard Costa Venezia will run once during each itinerary, starting when the ship set sail for the first time on 8 March and during a 53-day journey before transitioning to Shanghai.
“The new jewellery show is yet another exciting endeavour in our partnership with Bvlgari to bring our retail offerings to the next level of engagement,” said Starboard Vice President & General Manager, Asia Derek Wong. “We aim to please our discerning Chinese clientele by continuing to introduce these one-of-a-kind shopping opportunities that take ship guests far beyond the storefront to create memorable experiences.”
Costa Group Asia President Mario Zanetti said: “During the Bvlgari Jewelry Fashion Show guests experience what our brands mean together, the type of retail experience they can find aboard our ships, and what our partner, Starboard, offers them.”
Directed by the creative producer Nathan J. Clarke, associate director and choreographer for the closing ceremonies of the London Olympic and Paralympic Games, the Bvlgari Jewelry Fashion Show is designed to highlight the best of Bvlgari Italian craftsmanship. The colourful show features a display of Bvlgari jewels and live performances, “as a tribute to femininity, grace, power and romance”.
Starboard’s shops feature pieces from Bvlgari’s categories including jewellery, watches, accessories and fragrance.
As reported, Costa Venezia features 8,000sq ft retail managed by Starboard, with the largest beauty area at sea in 2,500sq ft, plus areas for fashion, jewellery and watches.
