SWEDEN. Swedish retailer Lakritsroten is to open a shop that offers liquorice classics and small-batch sweets at Stockholm Arlanda Airport’s new Marketplace in Terminal 5, which is set to open in December.
The store will be included in the second phase of the Marketplace. The first phase will launch this autumn.
Swedavia Chief Commercial Officer Charlotte Ljunggren said: “There has been an explicit demand for more Nordic, Swedish and local goods at the airport, and a liquorice store has been on our wish list. Lakritsroten will provide a memorable experience for passengers that they will want to share with others and experience again.”
The new shop will offer a modern in-store experience with a focus on quality, artisan production and customer service from trained liquorice experts.

It will showcase a wide range of liquorice for everyone’s tastes, with over 600 liquorice-related items from more than 70 different brands.
Head of Retail at Evanoff Group (owner of the Lakritsroten chain) Erik Dahlén said: “The setup at Arlanda is Lakritsroten’s biggest investment to date, and we are really looking forward to welcoming the millions of passengers at Arlanda to our magical world of liquorice.”
The store’s product range also includes ingredients for cooking and baking, books and other printed material, drinks and health and beauty products.
The brand opened its first shop in Stockholm in 2007 and today operates 11 shops in Stockholm, Gothenburg, Malmö and Uppsala. Lakritsroten has been part of Evanoff Group since 2018. ✈
