A ‘gin-teresting’ combination: Butlers launches gin-enhanced chocolates

Irish confectioner Butlers Chocolates is launching a new chocolate range, developed in collaboration with Drumshanbo Gunpowder Irish Gin, at the upcoming TFWA World Exhibition & Conference (Green Village L56).

The gin-enhanced collection includes milk chocolate truffles, a 200g milk chocolate-filled truffle bar and a 100g milk chocolate bar.

Butlers Chocolates said its new Drumshanbo Gunpowder Irish Gin-flavoured chocolates are “sure to delight gin lovers”

For the new collection, the company said its chocolatiers succeeded in marrying milk chocolate with the citrus taste and spicy notes of oriental botanicals from Drumshanbo Gunpowder Irish Gin.

Drumshanbo Gunpowder Irish Gin is slow distilled in a medieval copper pot with nine oriental botanicals, including ‘gunpowder tea’, at The Shed Distillery in Ireland’s County Leitrim. The gin takes its name from the green gunpowder tea; its recipe also includes fresh lime, lemon and grapefruit.

The Shed Distillery Founder P. J. Rigney said the company was delighted to collaborate with Butlers on the new chocolate range.

Butlers Chocolates Marketing Director Aisling Walsh added: “We are thrilled and very excited about this new partnership and look forward to launching this irresistible collection at TFWA”.
