San Francisco Airport unveils duty free and luxury RFP plans

USA. San Francisco International Airport has announced plans to issue a Request for Proposals for its International Terminal duty free and luxury stores in spring 2017.

DFS Group is the long-time incumbent duty free concessionaire.

The airport said it was looking to solicit feedback from qualified industry operators on certain elements of the lease.

It is inviting comments from duty free concessionaires with five or more years of experience at a major international airport with an annual sales volume exceeding US$50 million.

All interested qualifying parties should submit their company name, the airport(s) they are currently operating in, annual sales volume, and contact information to John.Reeb@flysfo.com. They will then receive an invitation for a pre-determined date and time to meet in December.

Parties should respond no later than Wednesday 30 November at 1700 PST.

The tender was first revealed at The Trinity Forum in 2015 in Taipei organised by The Moodie Davitt Report when airport  management held a briefing for prospective bidders.
