Diplomático Rum has announced successful duty free launches in the Americas and Europe.
Last month the brand introduced its flagship rum Diplomático Reserva Exclusiva to six airports in Paris (two), Prague, Rome, Miami and Panama.
Diplomático Rum, present in over 50 countries, described duty free distribution as a “natural next step” in the brand’s growth. “By the end of 2016, Diplomático Rum plans to be selling in over 25 airports,” it said.
Diplomático Rum Business Development Manager Mario Navarro said: “We’re excited to expand Diplomático in the duty free channel. As a global premium rum brand, the entire portfolio speaks to the cosmopolitan and adventurous traveller, especially those who would frequent international shops.”
“On the first day of duty free sales, Diplomático Rum sold out at all Parisian airports,” Navarro said.
The range includes the Tradition line: Blanco (aged up to six years), Reserva (aged up to 8 years) and Reserva Exclusiva (aged up to 12 years). The Prestige Line offers 12yo Single Vintage and Ambassador, finished in sherry casks for one and two years respectively.
