The new Strictly Jil Sander Night, available from October, shares the woody-spicy fragrance of the original scent with a softer citrus and stronger sensual facet.
The men’s fragrance has been created by Olivier Pescheux who was also responsible for the original fragrance.
Top notes of black pepper and pepperwood combine with zest of bergamot. The spiciness continues through a heart of warm nutmeg and cool cardamom, balanced by lavender. Underneath, notes of vetiver and patchouli evoke masculinity and are rounded out by sensual tonka bean.
Its name alludes to the aesthetic of the Jil Sander fashion label, which the company said was key to the development of the fragrance. Pescheux explained his brief from Coty: “The initial visual shared by Coty’s team was a man wearing an elegant Jil Sander black suit directly over his skin: the ultimate elegance and comfort when the night falls.”
The streamlined cylinder of the bottle is the mirror image of Simply Jil Sander, its female counterpart, this time dressed up for night in glossy black.
