Commercial turnover hit CHF16 million (US$17.6 million) in April. Skewed by the comparison with April 2020, when air traffic reached a virtual standstill due to COVID-19, this was more than twice the figure of a year earlier. The commercial numbers include sales from The Circle lifestyle and business complex, which opened last November.

Zürich Airport served 323,500 passengers in April, a leap of +1100%, but the comparison is influenced by the virtual shutdown a year ago. Compared to the corresponding month in the year 2019, passenger numbers were -88.1% lower.
