SWITZERLAND. Zürich Airport turnover from commercial activities climbed marginally (+0.6% year-on-year) in November to CHF39.8 million (US$39.3 million). Airside sales rose by +1.2% but landside sales dipped by -0.1%.
Against this, the key figure of turnover per departing passenger fell by a sharp -5.6% to CHF39.40 (US$38.95).
In the first 11 months of 2016, commercial turnover hit CHF496.7 million (US$491 million), a rise of +1.9% on the same period in 2015. Airside sales grew by +2.8% and landside sales by +0.9%.
In the January-November period, turnover per departing passenger was CHF38.90 (US$38.40), down by -2.8%.
The airport handled 2.01 million passengers in November, a rise of +6.6% compared to November 2015. For the first 11 months, traffic climbed by +4.9% to 25.5 million.
Due to the strong passenger increases, Zürich Airport has updated its passenger guidance for the full year. Total passenger volume is expected to grow by about +5% (the previous guidance was for a +4% rise).
