McDonald was honoured for her new ideas, for challenging the norm and “bringing about impactful change”. Her critical thinking, good judgement and ability to drive positive change were also noted.

“I’m feeling very honoured to be recognised. The passion, support and respect of the wider ARI team is inspirational and allows me to do what I love, and to do it to the best of my ability every day,” McDonald said.

Sun’s award recognised her respect and value of diversity and her ‘one winning team’ attitude.

“This is an absolute honour,” Sun said. “I would like to thank my colleagues who make my life in ARI interesting and enjoyable; your recognition means a lot to me and is truly appreciated. Let us continue to work closely as one winning team, play our part, and lead our people through change.”

ARI teamed up with The Moodie Davitt Report to celebrate International Women’s Day on 8 March in a striking website makeover.

They also launched an empowering social media campaign called ‘Women Rise’, which celebrates the diverse and inspiring women working at the Irish travel retail company. The Moodie Davitt Report asked 75 women from ARI to talk about womanhood and compiled their responses in the film below.
