Wild Tiger rum bolsters Asia Pacific presence with new listings

Indian rum brand Wild Tiger has strengthened its Asia Pacific travel retail presence with new listings ahead of the TFWA Asia Pacific Exhibition, where the company will be exhibiting for the first time (stand J01, basement 2).

Wild Tiger is now available with King Power International, Eastern Duty Free (EDF) in Vietnam and One Stop Duty Free in Labuan, Malaysia. The brand said that a listing with DFS at Changi Airport is imminent.

“Asian travellers, especially the Chinese, love our product despite not being a typically rum-loving demographic,” said Wild Tiger Founder and Chief Brand Officer Gautom Menon. “Their purchasing behaviour has been solely on the basis of the attractive packaging and a fascination for the Tiger symbolism.”

In Singapore, Wild Tiger will present its Special Reserve rum (40%abv), India Spiced rum (38% abv), Ginger liqueur (25%abv) and CUBS twin pack.

The company is expected to launch its new Rumtastic Rum Box in June. The product comprises 20 rum miniatures curated from around the world. According to Menon, it has already received ‘significant’ pre-orders from travel retailers.

Wild Tiger said it is also working on limited-edition versions of the Rumtastic Rum Box and the Wild Tiger brand ahead of the 2020 Olympics in Tokyo and for the Chinese Year of the Tiger in 2022.

Menon added: “We are optimistic about the opportunities in the APAC region, which we believe will see the next new wave of Asian consumers and Millennials embracing unique and standout rums as their drink of choice.”

Wild Tiger supports Tiger conservation in South India along with empowering more than 200 village women who hand pack every bottle at its distillery in Kerala, India.
