Wild Tiger earns its stripes at Prouds Duty Free in Fiji

Sales of Indian rum Wild Tiger have started with an appropriate roar at Prouds Duty Free in Fiji.

As reported, Wild Tiger is India’s first rum produced from a blend of molasses and cane spirit (most Indian rums are produced solely from molasses). It was launched in Indian duty free in February 2016 and has since been rolled out into numerous domestic markets and select duty free locations. The brand is owned by Indian entrepreneur, Gautom Menon.

It’s a great (Tiger) tale, the kind I also relish hearing – and writing. Absolutely rum-tastic in fact.

In Fiji, Wild Tiger is available exclusively through Motibhai Group’s Prouds Duty Free arrivals and departures stores at Nadi International Airport. “We have been receiving good response from customers ever since the Wild Tiger Rum has been introduced into our duty free stores,” said Prouds DFS Manager Ashwin Chand.

Wild Tiger Rum is retailing at FJ$47.85 (US$22.88) per 700cl bottle and $89 (US$42.55) for two bottles,” Chand added.

Prouds commented: “One of the most distinctive aspects of Wild Tiger’s packaging is the different stripe designs of each bottle which ensures that no two bottle designs are alike, making each bottle unique to its owner or gift recipient. By this virtue it makes this a default special edition of sorts and ideally suited for travel retail.”

As part of its Corporate Social Responsibility policy the brand donates 10% of profits towards tiger Conservation in South India. The company has set up a non-profit initiative called Wild Tiger Foundation which works with other established wildlife establishments and prominent tiger experts to save tigers and their habitats.
