Wellington Airport issues food & beverage and retail RFP for multi-million dollar terminal upgrade

NEW ZEALAND. Wellington Airport has issued a Request for Proposals (RFP) for interested food & beverage and retail operators to become part of a NZ$15 million (US$9.8 million) upgrade of its main terminal.

The upgrade covers approximately 6,000sq m at the gateway to New Zealand’s capital city. It will result in a large open area with expansive views across the airfield and to the hills beyond. The new space will accommodate numerous new commercial opportunities across 1,000sq m in prime locations within the main passenger dwell area.

Wellington Airport seeks operators who will deliver unique and distinctive food & beverage and retail experiences to the more than 6.3 million passengers and 1 million well-wishers who visit the airport every year. Preliminary works have already begun and the upgrade will be carried out progressively over the next 12 months.

This project is part of a number of major works in progress at the airport, including a new multi-level car park and transport hub and a 134-room four star hotel to be operated by Rydges, both due to open in late 2018.

Interested parties can respond to the RFP through Wellington Airport’s website at www.wellingtonairport.co.nz/RFP or contact Commercial Leasing Manager Roshni Patel at roshni.patel@wellingtonairport.co.nz.

Recipients must confirm receipt of RFP document by Wednesday 19 September 2018 and the deadline for submissions close Friday 2 November 2018.

Wellington Airport is the third-busiest airport in New Zealand, processing over 6.3 million passengers annually, including over 911,000 international passengers.
