Waldemar Behn rolls out Danzka The Spirit in US travel retail

Waldemar Behn is launching Danzka The Spirit in US travel retail following a ‘successful’ roll-out in Europe, Russia, Middle East, Asia and Australia.

Behn is partnering with Chase International to support the launch, which will begin with Dufry in the second quarter of 2018.

Behn is hoping to replicate the success that Danzka Original has had in Latin America, where high-profile promotions have been running since the start of the year.

Waldemar Behn Regional Director Americas Tito Gonzalez said: “We have achieved excellent results from our exciting and high-profile POS activations with Dufry in Uruguay in January, in Rio de Janeiro and Sao Paulo, Brazil, during January and March, and in Ezeiza and Aeroparque airports in Buenos Aires, Argentina in February.

“We are looking forward to similar success in May when we launch activations with Dufry in Lima, Peru and Santiago, Chile.”

In related news, Gonzalez has assumed responsibility for North America duty free in addition to his Latin America and Caribbean role. Global Sales Director Torben Vedel Andersen will focus his efforts on the Middle East and Asia.

“This is a good bye and thank you to a lot of great friends in the Americas after almost 30 years in the Americas duty free,” Andersen commented.

Behn will highlight Danzka The Spirit at the Summit of the Americas show (booth 223) alongside its full portfolio of premium spirits. It will also feature its alliance partner Pallini Limoncello.

Behn unveiled the Family Brands Alliance at last year’s TFWA World Exhibition. “Since being established, this alliance has already strengthened both companies in the changing travel retail world, and helped them optimise logistics, marketing and service,” said Waldemar Behn Owner and Managing Director Rüdiger Behn.
