SOUTH KOREA. Lotte Duty Free has introduced new retail promotions for travellers over the spring season including the chance to win a restorative trip to a Japanese ski resort.
The ‘Vivid Spring’ promotion, running from 23 February to 12 April, involves a ticket sweepstake for customers making online purchases of over US$1.
Shoppers must fill out the application form on their purchase receipt and apply for entry in-store. Ten winners will receive a pair of tickets for a three-night/four-day trip to Japan staying at Lotte’s Niigata Arai Resort. The winners will be able to tour nearby Kusatsu’s famed onsen hot springs.
The retailer will also hand out Lucky Scratch Coupons to customers spending over US$600 at its Myeongdong flagship, World Tower and COEX duty free stores.
Prizes include books, candle holders or KRW10,000 (around US$10) discount cards. Shoppers spending over US$1,000 will also receive discount cards of KRW50,000 (US$46). Other prizes up for grabs include tickets to the King Kibbutz musical.
At Gimpo and Incheon International airports the retailer is offering discount cards of up to KRW160,000 (US$150) with certain purchases. For example, at Incheon Terminal 2, customers using a Korean Air Skypass Lotte Credit Card can get a voucher for KRW120,000 (US$110).
Customers spending over US$400 on a Shinhan Card at certain stores can collect a complimentary dust/pollen mask in time for the spring season.
