UAE. Leading travel retailer Dubai Duty Free has underlined its commitment to protecting the planet with a new initiative timed to coincide with World Environment Day (5 June), as outlined in our latest Video of the Day choice.
The theme for the retailer this year is The Dubai Duty Free Forest, through which the retailer guarantees the planting of more than 1,000 trees.
This follows on from the 2021 launch of Dubai Duty Free’s ‘Plant a tree, plant a legacy’ initiative. This is a long-term project with the goal to plant 10,000 trees in ten years to the support the United Nations’ decade on ecosystem restoration.
Through this initiative and other projects, Dubai Duty Free hopes to inspire an internal culture of environmental protection over the next decade.
Executive Vice Chairman and CEO Colm McLoughlin said: “I’m delighted to say that Dubai Duty Free is taking part in World Environment Day as we have been doing since 2014.”
