CHINA. In today’s video, CGTN reporter He Weiwei takes viewers to Asia’s largest travel retail shopping centre, the China Duty Free Group-operated Sanya International Duty Free Shopping Complex in Haitang Bay, anchored by the acclaimed CDF Mall.
She is accompanied by a special guest, Sansha Satellite TV journalist Shi Shaopeng in a 35-minute livestreaming programme that offers confirmation of the impressive recovery of Hainan’s offshore duty free industry. “There are so many people here,” exclaims Shi as he enters the main atrium.
“It’s so busy, we’ll have to wait a little bit,” adds Ms He as she attempts to buy her favoured La Mer (take a look at 21 minutes in to view the queues).
The programme offers a graphic and fascinating insight into this giant brand emporium and how Chinese shopping behaviour there has very much returned to normal.
