USA. Eight duty free concessions opportunities are available at Newark Liberty International Airport terminals A and B, spanning 8,613sq ft.

URW and the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey said their aim was to redevelop the existing concessions programme in Terminal B with an emphasis on creating Sense of Place by showcasing the airport’s home state of New Jersey.

The transformed customer experience will “feature the heart and soul of New Jersey through the eclectic and upbeat  environments of The  Boardwalk, Ironbound and The Garden State”, the partners said. The Boardwalk area will be lined with “homey, boutique” shops and aims to create a relaxed feel and offer expansive views.

The  Ironbound area, named after a New Jersey neighbourhood  known  for  its  diverse  and  multi-cultural  nature, aims to capture the “urban look and feel of north Jersey”. It will feature food & beverage units and showcase design elements inspired by metal and brick, as well as street art.

The Garden State area aims to highlight fresh, artisanal foods and hopes to capture “scenic views and the excitement of city life”.

There are six opportunities in Terminal B with a term of seven years, as well as two in Terminal A, which is set to be decommissioned at the end of 2020.

There are also two duty free concession opportunities in Terminal A. The Port Authority is planning to decommission the existing Terminal A building and build a new terminal (Terminal One) in its place. The existing concessions will therefore close on or about 31 December, 2020, it said.

All proposals should be mailed or delivered to the following address by 19 December 2018: URW Airports, LLC, Attention: Jan Springer, 2730 University Blvd. W, Suite 900 Wheaton, MD 20902.
