Tyko appoints Alison Fishwick as Managing Director; revamps Hippie Chic brand

Fishwick has extensive experience in the watches and jewellery sector

Tyko Brands has promoted Alison Fishwick to Managing Director, effective 1 October.

Fishwick most recently worked as Sales Director at Tyko. Before that she was Travel Retail Sales Manager at jewellery brand Estella Bartlett. She also worked for Tyko-owned Breo for three years as Sales Manager Global Travel Retail.

Fishwick said: “This is a really exciting time for the company. We have become much more brand focused with our trade stands and general marketing, moving away from the corporate feel of Tyko Brands previously.”

At TFWA World Exhibition, Tyko launched its new-look Hippie Chic brand. The brand’s old bohemian rustic-style card packaging has been replaced with a contemporary grey design.

Since launching in 2013, Hippie Chic has sold over 1.5 million watches inflight. Fishwick said the original Boho watch and bracelet set is still one of Tyko’s best-selling lines.

New Painted Rose and Forever collections were launched in Cannes. Hippie Chic’s bronze style head and beads have been replaced with classic silver, rose gold and gold colours.

“As these watches are a low cost product they are a great trolley stopper, which also encourages other customers to buy,” Fishwick noted. “We have worked hard to keep the price points of the new collections at the same level as existing Hippie Chic watches, which generate high volumes of sales.”

Hippie Chic cruises into travel retail with a new POS display and packaging

A new Hippie Chic counter top has been introduced with Harding Brothers on the Azura and Britannia cruise ships and will soon launch on P&O Ferries and at Knock Airport in Ireland, Fishwick revealed.

“The new look and feel of the brand, along with the traditional Boho collection offer a fantastic offering for duty free stores, ferries, cruise ships and border stores,” said Fishwick.

Fishwick described Lily + Stone’s Manhattan and 5th Avenue collections as having a “minimalist classic feel”

Tyko Brands also launched its new brand Lily + Stone at TFWA World Exhibition. The brand offers a traditional style buck watch range, including the Manhattan and 5th Avenue collections.

A POS counter top has been developed which aims to give the feeling of a high-end luxury brand but one that is affordable, said Fishwick.
