Two major US airlines sign up for Zürich Airport’s primeclass lounge

SWITZERLAND. Two major North American airlines have become the latest carriers to sign an agreement for their passengers to use the primeclass lounge at Zürich Airport. Guests from Delta Airlines have begun frequenting the facility this month, and passengers from American Airlines will use it from 6 July.

Delta has direct daily flights from Zürich to New York and Atlanta, and American Airlines offers direct flights to the Swiss capital from a dozen US airports.

American Airlines will become the seventh carrier that will see its passengers frequent the primeclass lounge at Zürich Airport from 6 July

The Zürich Airport primeclass lounge is located in the non-Schengen terminal, pier E. It covers 842sq m and has a seating capacity of 134. The amenities include showers, private rooms, an open buffet and an area devoted to business users.

The lounge, operated by Turkish-owned TAV, opened for business in March last year and has welcomed more than 70,000 guests to date.

Food & beverage is an important element of the primeclass lounge offering

Aside from Delta, it currently serves passengers from five other airlines, including Turkish Airlines, Qatar Airways and Aeroflot.

Priority Pass, Lounge Key, Diners Club and Dragon Pass cardholders also have access to the lounge, while WeChat, AliPay and LoungeMe app users can also buy access.

A global hospitality services provider, TAV currently has 83 lounges across 42 airports in 24 countries. They welcomed more than five million passengers in 2018.
