Lifestyle accessory specialist Tumi will present its Fall/Winter 2017 collections for men, women and travel at next month’s TFWA World Exhibition & Conference in Cannes (Riviera Village RG14).
The Men’s Collection includes totes, backpacks and briefs.
Designed with “function and attitude in mind”, the Alpha Bravo range features revitalised existing styles in seasonal Blue Camo. The Luke Roll-Top Backpack has interior and exterior pockets while the Knox Backpack combines form and function. Both styles are also available in dark brown and black matte leather.
Tumi’s Arrivé collection is presented in navy. The Grantley Backpack is new to the series, featuring a wide zip opening for easy access into the main compartment, a separate laptop section, and pockets.
The Hamilton Slim Brief has retractable chrome handles and can be carried as a traditional top-handle or as a portfolio.
Alpha 2, considered the pinnacle of Tumi’s design innovation, introduces a lighter and stronger range of business bags, said to be “sleeker in profile and smarter in functionality”. The classic T-Pass Medium Screen Laptop Slim Brief in Earl Grey and T-Pass Business Class Brief Pack in Navy/Black colour block are also available in black.
Tumi has expanded its Accessories collection, with updated and new lines. Nassau comes in black and brown Italian and textured Nappa leather; also included are the Double Billfold, Breast Pocket Wallet and Passport Case.
Monaco includes small leathergoods crafted from textured full-grain leather. Available in Black or Cobalt, the Gusseted Card Case and Slim Card Case feature a new embossed finish, turned-edge construction and streamlined interior pockets.
Women’s Collection
The nylon Voyageur collection offers a mix of prints and colours, with seasonal Marine, Crimson and Mink. The Monaco Travel Kit features Gallery Floral print.
The Voyageur Super Léger International Carry-On has been refreshed to offer two access points to the main compartment, giving travellers the ability to retrieve items from the front lid without having to open the entire suitcase. Two exterior zip pockets are also included.
The Calais Backpack offers a roomy interior and includes a padded laptop compartment and mobile telephone pocket. The Just In Case Backpack is new to the range and folds into a separate zippered pouch, making it ideal for travel.
Voyageur Leather presents the best-selling styles of the Voyageur nylon collection in pebbled leather. The range is described as ideal for daily commutes, short getaways and weekend excursions.
The Small Daniella Backpack is designed to hold daily necessities and other small accessories. The Capri Crossbody is available in leather and features a U-shaped front zipper pocket for smaller personal items, as well as an additional front-open pocket. The Carolina Tote is said to combine functionality with a classic carryall structure; a top zip opens to a roomy main interior with pockets.
Travel Collection
The Tumi Fall 2017 Travel range introduces strong colours and graphic prints, taking inspiration from New York “where journeys of urban edge and the countryside charm converge into a contemporary style”.
Tumi described its 19 Degree collection of aluminium luggage as the “pinnacle of travel gear”. The range is presented in blue and includes International Carry-On, Short Trip Packing Case and Extended Trip Packing Case sizes. The assortment features a reinforced frame-case design, with two snap closures for carry-on bags and three snap closures for check-in bags, and die-cast corner caps for additional protection. Interior design includes lightweight lining with an embossed diamond pattern to complement the exterior pattern.
V3, TUMI’s lightest luggage collection, is said to offer design, colour, and print expression in a multi-layer polycarbonate shell. Carry-on and check-in sizes are offered in black, Pacific blue and white, and Gallery Floral and Blue Camo prints.
Selected sizes, including the V3 International and Continental Carry-Ons, as well as the Short Trip and Large Trip Packing Cases, feature additional packing capacity.
The Alpha Bravo collection, in Tumi’s signature ballistic nylon material, is, according to the brand, exceptionally durable.
The Henderson Short Trip Packing Case and Kirtland International Carry-On feature three interior dividers in the front lid to compartmentalise packing. Both cases have a separate structured bottom section with tie-down straps. Exteriors include multiple pockets, four dual-recessed wheels, a telescoping handle and bumper guards.
The Alpha 2 line includes navy/black two-toned Front Lid Packing cases. The Front Lid International Carry-On and Short Trip Packing Case offer two points of access to the expandable main compartment. Alpha 2 models include a silver monogram patch and luggage tag.
The Arrivé collection has been refreshed to include retractable handles, protective pockets, and magnetic zippers. New carry-on and check-in expandable styles include the Gatwick Front-Lid International Carry-On, Aberdeen Continental Carry-On, Macarthur Short Trip Packing Case and Stanley Extended Trip Packing Case.
