Try before you buy: Macduff introduces miniature Lauder’s bottles

Macduff International is set to launch miniature 5cl bottles of the original Lauder’s Scotch whisky and its different variants.

The company said the mini versions allow customers to try the products before investing in a larger version.

Macduff International Managing Director David Sloan commented: “The pinch-shaped bottle is the same that has been used for over a century. It is only fitting that for the first time in history this award-winning whisky can now also be found in the same easily recognisable bottle in a 5cl size.”

Macduff will also launch a luxury tasting pack which contains three 5cl bottles of Lauder’s Finest, Lauder’s Sherry Edition and Lauder’s Port Edition.

Sloan added: “We see it as an opportunity to recruit new consumers and it is the ideal gift giving opportunity in a time where consumers are focusing on unique gifts.”

In other news, according to IWSR, Lauder’s has become the fifth best-selling brand in the standard blended Scotch whisky category in European travel retail and the third in Nordic travel retail. Sister brand Islay Mist posted sales growth of +31% in 2016 and rose to eighth position in the standard Scotch category, according to Generation Research.
