TRG Concessions plans to open Soho-favourite Spuntino at London Heathrow

UK. Travel concessions operator TRG Concessions plans to open a Spuntino outlet at London Heathrow Airport Terminal 3 in December.

Spuntino (‘snack’ in Italian) is the brainchild of restaurateurs Richard Beatty and Russell Norman, who signed an exclusive franchise agreement with TRG Concessions earlier this year. Beatty and Norman also founded the popular Polpo restaurant chain.

Their Spuntino restaurant, in London’s Soho district, boasts 27 stools and a popcorn machine. The New York street food-inspired eatery has developed a cult following with London foodies.

The Heathrow outlet will offer bespoke breakfast, children’s and takeaway menus, based on the Soho’s eatery’s ‘small plates’ concept. Key features of the new location will include a doughnut machine, roller-skating host and a mural painted by Soho artist Neal Fox.

TRG Concessions Managing Director Nick Ayerst said: “After years of talks with Richard and Russell, we are delighted to now be working on our first collaboration with them and Heathrow.  Spuntino in Terminal 3 will offer passengers an exciting new eating and drinking experience.”

Another TRG Concessions outlet at London Heathrow Airport, The Curator, claimed a major honour at this year’s FAB Awards. The Curator was named Airport Bar of the Year (over US$3 million and Best Bar Overall).

Spuntino Managing Director Scott Macdonald commented: “When I travel I am always on the lookout for great quality food and drink in the airport.

“Spuntino has always stood for delicious plates of comfort cooking with great drinks and proper hospitality. We are delighted to be bringing our cult restaurant to a new audience at Heathrow Terminal 3. Expect hearty breakfasts, legendary burgers, mac ‘n’ cheese, roller skates and lots of doughnuts.”

We know our passengers want delicious, quality food that they can enjoy together or take away with them for an inflight treat. Spuntino has all this and a unique dining experience, bringing the excitement of Soho to our international customers and leaving them with a lasting taste of London before they fly.”
