Travel Food Services triumphs in Bengaluru airport lounge and hotel tender

INDIA. Travel Food Services (TFS) has been awarded the concession for the construction and operation of the domestic and international lounges and transit hotel at Kempegowda International Airport Bengaluru.

Airport operator Bangalore International Airport Ltd (BIAL) is one of India’s and Asia’s most forward-thinking airport companies in terms of commercial revenues and consumer services.

As reported, BIAL issued a Request for Proposals (RFP) last December for a 12-year contract covering the construction, investment, development, operation, maintenance and management of the lounge and hotel facilities.

The modern face of Indian aviation: Kempegowda International Airport Bengaluru.

The domestic and international lounges are sited in the domestic security hold area (level 1) and international security hold area (level 1), respectively. The transit hotel is in the check-in hall at the T1 passenger terminal building.

The award is a major coup for the Sunil Kapur-led TFS, which has grown into India’s leading airport food and beverage operator in just a decade since its public launch in May 2009.

International travel food & beverage specialist SSP Group holds a 49% stake in TFS.

We’ll bring you comment from BIAL and TFS as soon as possible.
