Traditional Italy: Areas unveils dual-branded F&B space at Rome Fiumicino Airport

ITALY. Areas Italia has opened a new dual-branded food & beverage space at Rome Fiumicino Airport. In a raised position overlooking Terminal 1 landside and offering more than 100 seats, it encompasses pizza restaurant Rossopomodoro and Caffè Vergnano.

Rossopomodoro is the world’s largest Neapolitan pizza and pasta chain. It is a popular Italian brand spanning more than 150 restaurants serving more than 10 million customers annually in cities including Rome, Florence, Milan, Bologna and Venice.

The Rome Fiumicino restaurant offers a wide range of pizzas and traditional Neapolitan dishes including spaghetti with tomatoes and basil, gnocchi alla sorrentina and scialatielli with mussels and clams.

All dishes are prepared with high-quality ingredients such as Gragnano pasta, Buffalo mozzarella and Sorrento extra virgin olive oil.

Founded in 1882, the adjacent Caffè Vergnano brand – which has more than 130 coffee shops worldwide – claims to be the oldest coffee-producing company in Italy.

Both brands are well established within the Areas portfolio. The travel restaurateur also manages the Rossopomodoro restaurants at Milan Bergamo, Milan Linate and Milan Malpensa airports.

Areas operates another Caffè Vergnano point of sale inside Rome Fiumicino Airport, and others at Rome’s Termini Station and the Muggiano Ovest motorway service area.

The new Rossopomodoro/Vergnano venue is closely connected to the parking areas and train station linked to Rome Fiumicino Airport.

The new openings add to a strong presence for Areas at Rome Fiumicino. Its other outlets include Mastercard Bistrot, the first cashless restaurant designed to offer a food experience based on Roman culinary tradition. In addition, Areas operates an Illy Cafè, international coffee bar 12OZ and the Chef Market Food Court.
