TR Partners extends brand portfolio

TR Partners – the travel retail agency set up by Vincent McDermott in 2020 – has extended its brand portfolio to strength its offer in the beauty, wellness and accessories categories.

Newcomers to the TR Partners’ line-up include This Works, Fekkai, Frances Prescott, the Nue Co. and Dock & Bay. Other partners include 2020 QDF Factor joint grand prize winner Long Haul Spa and Virtual Travel Expo 2021 Sustainability Partner Ocean Bottle.

“TR Partners are proud to represent an innovative portfolio of brands that speak directly to the travelling customer,” McDermott said. “Our role is to help champion brands that add to the overall value proposition in global travel retail.”

Prior to establishing TR Partners, McDermott worked with Victoria’s Secret, MAC Cosmetics, Puig and Aer Rianta International (ARI) across several continents including Europe, the Middle East and Asia Pacific.

His agency’s retail partners include ARI, DFS, Dufry, Qatar Duty Free, Harding Retail, Gebr. Heinemann, Lagardère Travel Retail and Dubai Duty Free.

Recent TR Partners’ addition This Works targets the beauty and wellness categories with a range of products which are “scientifically proven to enhance sleep and wellness”.

Its bestselling The Deep Sleep Pillow Spray features 99% natural ingredients including camomile, lavender and vetiver. Other travel-related products include Deep Sleep Breathe In and Stress Check roll-ons, a Bedtime Bliss duo, which includes Deep Sleep Body Cocoon and Deep Sleep Playtime Kit which includes an eye mask.

Haircare specialist Fekkai – dubbed as the “Tesla of sustainable luxury haircare” by Fekkai Founder Frédéric Fekkai – made its travel retail debut at last year’s Virtual Travel Retail Expo.

The brand aims to offer clean and sustainable products that deliver salon performance to the global traveller. A recent interview with Frédéric Fekkai, who is intent on “making sustainability sexy”, can be read here.

According to McDermott, Fekkai is set to extend its footprint in travel retail with key operators in Q2 of this year.

Driven by the need to simplify her skin care regime and lighten her luggage, Frances Prescott Founder Pauline Prescott developed the brand’s national multi-tasking skincare line which includes Tri-Balm to cleanse, exfoliate and moisturise the skin in one step.

The Nue Co. was founded in 2017 by Jules Miller, who had struggled with Irritable Bowel Syndrome and its effects on her sleep, mood, immunity, skin and energy levels. The brand offers a range of supplements that feature sustainable and ethical ingredients to “interconnect all aspects of health”.

Lifestyle brand Dock & Bay claims to have ‘reinvented’ the towel to offer a colourful range which is quick drying, super, odourless, and sand-free. Its towels are big enough to cover a sun lounger but compact enough to fit in a weekend bag.

Dock & Bay swimming shorts are made from 100% recycled plastic bottles; six bottles for each pair of shorts. Since 2020 March 2020, the brand has donated 5% of its net profits to charities including the World Wildlife Fund (WWF).
