SOUTH AFRICA. Tourvest Retail Services is to provide a boutique duty free retail solution and an onboard food & beverage service for South Africa-based low cost carrier Mango Airlines.

Mango Airlines is looking to implement new and innovative food & beverage products.

Tourvest will introduce an omnichannel e-commerce solution, incorporating retail within the traveller’s booking journey either via the airline’s website or through a mobile device application.

The company will also introduce its inflight electronic point of sale device, which it said would allow customers to purchase products inflight through multiple payment types in a “quick and efficient manner”.

Product demand will be met through the use of Tourvest’s demand forecasting tool, together with the introduction of its warehouse management system and operational solution designed to enhance efficiency and reduce costs. The tool will also help ensure that product distribution to the aircraft is on time and in full within the multiple locations that the airline services, according to the company.

Mango Airlines crew will receive comprehensive product and sales training, both through face to face and online means.

“We also want to further enhance our customer experience with new, innovative food & beverage products which will include a broader range of spirit miniatures, together with snack box options, amongst other new categories we are looking to introduce. We are therefore working closely with Tourvest’s new product development team to help us achieve this objective.”
