Tissot goes virtual with reality website application

SWITZERLAND. Tissot has launched an augmented reality application on its website – www.tissot.ch/reality – which allows users to try on a 3D virtual watch and interact with the innovative features of the brand’s pioneering Touch collection.

At the same time, special advertising visuals have been developed featuring a watch as a tip-on allowing users to “˜try on’ the watches at home using their own webcam-enabled computer. By logging onto Tissot website they can see themselves wearing the watches in real-time 3D.

To try on the watches and change models, colours and styles on the computer, users simply have to hold their wrist up to the webcam. They can choose from 28 variations – ranging from the finish to the colour of their wristbands – from the Touch collection, including the new Sailing-Touch, T-Touch Expert and Sea-Touch.

As well as seeing how the watch would look on their wrist, users will be able to experiment with the touch screen features of the watches, including the diver functionality of the Sea Touch and the altimeter, meteo, compass and thermometer of the wider ranges.

Videos showcasing the special features of each style will run alongside the visual of the watch on the wearer’s wrist. All the watches will also tell the correct time in digital and analogue.

Tissot President François Thiébaud said: “As a brand that’s renowned for its innovation, it is fitting that Tissot is the first Swiss watch brand to use an augmented reality application on its website.

“What makes it really special, is the synergy of the touch technology of our Touch collection with the augmented reality functionality. It’s the perfect way to get thousands of consumers to experience the Tissot Touch collection and experiment with its features,” he added.

Tissot has also launched an augmented reality advertising campaign touting the touch technology of its Touch collection
