Third CDFG Hainan Duty Free Year-End Shopping Festival kicks off in style

CHINA. China Duty Free Group (CDFG) yesterday (16 October) hosted the launch ceremony for the annual CDFG Hainan Offshore Duty Free Year-End Shopping Festival. The ceremony, held in Haikou, kicked off an exciting shopping event that will last for nearly three months.

CDFG, a subsidiary company of China Tourism Group, has hosted the festival for the past two years, successfully promoting offshore duty free sales during Hainan’s traditional peak tourism retail season.

The blockbuster shopping promotion runs until the end of the year

This year’s event also features a unique extended online opening ceremony, gathering KOLs from various verticals such as beauty and fashion, covering a wide range of categories such as skincare, makeup, perfume, watches, jewellery, bags, imported wine, baby care products, small home appliances and others.

Exciting live interactions with different themes are being presented for three consecutive days, bringing consumers a new, fun and visually attractive shopping experience.

This year’s Hainan Offshore Duty Free Year-End celebration runs until 31 December. CDFG is integrating the promotion across both the offline and online shops of its five duty free stores on the island. These include downtown operations at Sanya International Duty Free Shopping Complex in Haitang Bay and Haikou Mova Mall, and the stores at Sanya Phoenix International, Haikou Meilan International and Qionghai Bo’ao airports.

Watches & Wonders showcases craftsmanship

CDFG is also partnering with an array of well-known brands to present a range of luxury goods and limited-edition products backed bv engaging promotional activities.

During the event, CDFG is also inviting consumers to witness the Watches & Wonders Sanya Fine Watch Exhibition in order to experience fine watchmaking and appreciate the craftsmanship underpinning it.

As reported, the exhibition opened within CDFG’s Sanya International Duty Free Shopping Complex on 28 September. The online exhibition hall was also launched on CDFG’s new membership app on WeChat eysterday (16 October). The exhibition is open to consumers, collectors, watchmaking fans and watch enthusiasts. The personalised exhibition area is set up for participating brands within two tents facing the duty free shopping complex’s main entrance.

Visitors can enjoy fine timepieces from 12 watch brands in the open exhibition space while Cartier and Hermès welcome guests in their boutiques within the shopping complex

Fragrances, Champagne and Electronics showcased

The retailer is also hosting a perfumes festival dubbed ‘A journey to fragrance’, which will share the stories behind various scents and help consumers find those that appeal to them.

Other events include ‘CDFG Champagne Festival’, ‘Smart Electronic Carnival’ and others. The year-end ceremony coincides with the sixth anniversary of the launch of the CDFG membership system. To mark the moment, CDFG is presenting its members with an e-coupon package worth RMB600 (US$93) as an exclusive gift.

CDFG has also joined with its strategic partner China UnionPay to distribute tens of millions of membership points to CDFG members. They then have the opportunity to enjoy extra bonus and membership points when paying with China UnionPay at CDFG shops.
