The Shilla Duty Free and Dr.Jart+ team up for pioneering NFT launch

Welcome onboard flight NFT: The line features Dr.Jart+’s white tiger mascot exploring different Singapore landmarks
Travellers can win one of the two NFTs and a year’s worth of Dr.Jart+ by submitting a creative name for the line

SINGAPORE. The Shilla Duty Free has partnered with Dr.Jart+ to launch the first Singapore Changi Airport-themed NFT line.

The collection comprises an exclusive set of two NFTs and 9,000 Proof of Attendance Protocols (POAPs).

NFTs are one-of-a-kind digital assets, each with a unique identification code that cannot be duplicated. POAPs are a type of NFT used specifically to prove that the owner has participated in an event.

The collection features the work of graphic illustrator and 3D Art Designer Matsssal. The NFTs feature Dr.Jart+’s white tiger mascot in an outfit that was inspired by the brand’s best-selling Cicapair franchise and its hero ingredient, tiger grass.

They show the mascot travelling through different Singapore landmarks.

Winners will be announced on 6 September via The Shilla Duty Free’s social channels

From 10-31 August, consumers and NFT enthusiasts at Singapore Changi Airport can collect the complimentary POAPs. They also have the chance to win one of the two limited-edition NFTs by submitting a Singapore or travel-inspired name for the NFT line on The Shilla Duty Free website.

The top two submissions will each win one of the NFTs and a year’s worth of skincare products from Dr.Jart+ worth S$1,000 (US$726). Winners will be announced on 6 September on The Shilla Duty Free’s website, Facebook and Instagram accounts.

9,000 POAPs can be collected during the promo period

The partners have also released a travel retail-exclusive set of Dr.Jart+’s most popular mask, the Demask Water Jet Vital Hydra Solution 2+1 set (3 boxes x 5 sheets), for S$50 (US$36). The set is available at The Shilla Duty Free stores in Terminals 1 and 3. Dr.Jart+ is owned by The Estée Lauder Companies.

The collaboration highlights Singapore as a top travel destination, as passengers return to Singapore Changi Airport.

Dr.Jart+ Vice President General Manager Bart Dubbeld commented, “Dr.Jart+ is a philosophy, a brand at the intersection of artful experiences and high-performance derma skincare. In partnership with The Shilla Duty Free, we are proud to bring this ethos to life in the form of NFTs inspired by Singapore’s Changi Airport. We look forward to taking travellers on a digital journey where they can discover not just an iconic destination, but also art and skincare.”

“We are thrilled to partner with Dr.Jart+ to enrich our offerings with innovative digital experiences and travel-exclusive products to delight our customers.”

Changi Airport Group Managing Director of Airside Concessions Teo Chew Hoon added, “We are excited to inspire the first travel-themed NFTs launched in collaboration between Shilla Duty Free and Dr.Jart+. “The expansion into the digital realm enables travellers to discover a trove of exciting experiences and products available even before they embark on their journey at the airport.”

As reported, The Trinity Forum – the world’s leading airport commercial revenues conference – makes a welcome in-person return this year with Changi Airport Group as host.

The event, created by The Moodie Davitt Report in 2003 and now co-organised with Airports Council International (ACI) World and ACI Asia Pacific, has been suspended for the past two years due to the global pandemic. The Trinity Forum was last held in October-November 2019 in Doha, when it was memorably hosted by Qatar Airways Group.

The Trinity Forum promises to deliver a provocative and challenging programme about the big issues facing global travel retail, while also celebrating the industry’s encouraging revival as the pandemic eases.

Registration is open for the event, which you can complete here: https://trinityforum.events. Due to space limitations at Jewel, places at the Gala Dinner are strictly limited and will be offered on a first-come, first-served basis.
