The Shilla Duty Free and Clinique to host major consumer event in Seoul

SOUTH KOREA. The Shilla Duty Free is partnering with Estée Lauder-owned brand Clinique to hold a customer pop-up event on 11 June which the retailer said will be “the first of its kind in the Korean duty free and travel retail industry”.

The event takes place in the rooftop garden of The Shilla Duty Free’s Seoul downtown store and will be open to all visitors. Korean singer Chung Ha, a new ambassador for Clinique, will take part in a beauty talk show with more than 80 influencers including YouTubers, bloggers, Chinese Wang Hongs (internet celebrities), Shilla Tipping creators and The Shilla Duty Free VIPs.

The partners have released a Clinique iD Duo Set with Korean singer Chung Ha, who will take part in the pop-up event on 11 June.

The Shilla Duty Free said that the event is being arranged in response to the popularity of Clinique iD Duo, a Shilla exclusive set that has been on sale since February. Clinique iD is a customisable moisturizer line which is available in 15 different combinations for skin types and concerns.

The Shilla Duty Free has exclusively launched the Clinique iD Duo Set and Chung Ha Set, and said it aims further consolidate its partnership with Clinique by hosting the upcoming event. Last year The Shilla Duty Free formed an exclusive partnership with the beauty house that allowed it to sell two popular travel retail exclusive Clinique products in the Asia Pacific region.

The pop-up event will feature a commemorative photo wall, a lucky draw, a beauty talk show with Chung Ha, a Clinique iD product experience and souvenir presentations.

In addition, visitors will have an opportunity to participate in activities such as skin analysis, VR gaming, making flower pots with empty bottles and making eco-friendly bags. The beauty talk show with Chung Ha will be opened to invitees who participated in events on The Shilla Duty Free’s official Instagram or Shilla Tipping platforms.

On the day of the event, Korean influencers and Chinese celebrities will be encouraged to share their impressions of the event and The Shilla Duty Free Seoul store through their social media channels.

The Shilla Duty Free collaborated with Clinique in February to introduce an exclusive dual-pack version of the Clinique iD range of customisable moisturisers.

The Shilla Duty Free noted that it has been steadily introducing exclusive products from leading global cosmetics brands. In particular, it is expanding its partnerships with brands owned by The Estée Lauder Companies such as Clinique, La Mer, Jo Malone London and Aveda.
