The Moodie Report e-Zine Issue 68: Your weekly take on travel retail

Welcome to The Moodie Report e-Zine for 14 February, which as always offers an insightful take on the week’s top travel retail stories.

In this issue we report on AENA’s commercial vision for Palma de Mallorca, Spain’s third-biggest airport; we present a fascinating video case study of World Duty Free Group’s offer at Vancouver International Airport; and we analyse an important set of full-year results from LS travel retail.

In a new weekly column we celebrate travel retail’s Wild Geese – the Irish men and women abroad that have made such an impact on the industry. It’s a timely feature; Ireland hosts its unique year-long reunion, The Gathering, throughout 2013. And we have an appropriate sponsor too – The Wild Geese Collection’s Irish whiskeys and rum. This week we speak to Delhi Duty Free Services CEO Steve O’Connor.

We also look at a pioneering five-way Trinity partnership that reaches its climax at London Heathrow Airport Terminal 5 today (14 February). Initiated in response to a call for action at The Trinity Forum in 2012, we examine the campaign from planning to execution and report from the location.

We close on The Front Line – our regular column highlighting excellence in customer service – where Olga Vyacheslavovna’s organised and efficient approach make her a natural team leader with Dufry at Moscow Domodedovo Airport.
