The Moodie Davitt Report x Globuy Duty Free News Flash: Swarovski unveils tropical summer range; Foreo roars back with CNSC

As part of our pioneering information-sharing agreement with leading Chinese consumer platform Globuy, a selection of our stories with key Moodie Davitt brand partners appears on Globuy’s weekly Duty Free News Flash column.

Globuy aims to become “the KOL of Chinese travel retail” and already has 400,000 followers and a monthly audience of 1 million views for its WeChat social media platform promoting new launches, product availability, promotions and special offers.

As a Preferred Media Partner, Globuy will be in attendance at the inaugural Moodie Davitt Virtual Travel Retail Expo in October, bringing news from all exhibitors to its vast Chinese readership.

This week, Globuy reported on some major aviation highlights from our ‘Road to Recovery’ column, as several airlines have started the resumption of key international routes. As reported, Emirates resumed passenger flights to nine destinations on 21 May; while Etihad has begun preparations “for an eventual return to scheduled flights.”

Globuy also reported on the resumption of flight operations from Qatar Airways, Korean Air, Malaysian Airlines, Ryanair, and the Lufthansa Group. The latter is aiming to operate 1,800 weekly roundtrip services to more than 130 destinations by the end of June.

Globuy also shared some of our stories on the latest tax free fashion and beauty launches. It began by reviewing Swarovski’s latest summer range, which is now available online and in worldwide travel retail.

As reported, the collection offers jewellery pieces in tropical motifs and vibrant rainbow hues. The designs feature bright green and pink crystals in oversized animal and foliage-inspired silhouettes.

Globuy also reviewed Amorepacific’s fifth-generation Sulwhasoo First Care Activating Serum. The new serum has been enhanced with ‘Jaum Activator’, a new anti-ageing complex created by Sulwhasoo’s Herbal Medicinal Science Research Centre. It is now available in South Korean travel retail, as well as on various ecommerce platforms and department stores, with other travel retail locations to follow.

The Duty Free News Flash concluded with an entry from our regular ‘Image of the Day’ feature. The encouraging images came from Foreo Global Travel Retail Director Gary Leong and showcased the growing ‘revenge spending’ trend making a resurgence in Chinese domestic markets.

Leong noted that the images show a return to retail confidence as hundreds of customers flocked to the CNSC downtown duty free store in Beijing on the first day of China’s five-day Golden Week holiday.
