The Moodie Davitt e-Zine: Could duty free one day be smoke-free?

INTERNATIONAL. Welcome to The Moodie Davitt e-Zine – Travel Retail’s Lookbook. In this issue, we discover how Philip Morris International is rewriting the rules of tobacco engagement as it bids to get smokers to switch to ‘reduced risk products’, notably its most high-profile innovation, IQOS.

We travelled to Philip Morris’s state-of-the-art research and development centre in Switzerland to find out more.

Dufry last week unveiled its latest ‘New Generation’ store through World Duty Free at Heathrow Airport Terminal 3. The store majors on digital engagement, personalisation, multi-lingual communication and exclusivities. Our regular Airports as Artports column takes us to Hartsfield–Jackson Atlanta International. The airport plays a crucial role as a connecting hub for the USA and is the world’s biggest airport by passenger numbers. So it is fitting that its wide-ranging art programme is all about making connections – while educating, inspiring and delighting travellers.

“It’s a beautiful thing when career and passion come together,” says Dubai Duty Free Gucci beauty advisor Than Htike Moe in The Front Line, our regular column that highlights those who go the extra mile every day when serving the travelling public.

Finally, we take our usual look at the industry’s best new launches, activations and openings in Travel retail highlights.

Please enjoy this edition of the new-look Moodie Davitt e-Zine with our compliments.
