The Macallan names Igor Boyadjian as Managing Director; big promotion for former travel retail chief

Leading premium spirits company Edrington, has named Igor Boyadjian as Managing Director, The Macallan, succeeding Scott McCroskie. It follows McCroskie’s appointment as CEO of Edrington.

For Boyadjian, who will also join the Edrington executive team, it represents a big promotion. He joined the company in 2017 to lead the travel retail division and is currently Managing Director, Asia Pacific & India.

His partnership with Edrington stretches back over a decade, primarily through Edrington-F.I.X. Middle East, a joint-venture between Edrington and F.I.X. Wines & Spirits that was later acquired by Edrington. His experience in the spirits industry includes roles with Moët-Hennessy and Allied Domecq, as well as partnerships with Beam Suntory.

Igor Boyadjian said: “I am thrilled to have been given the opportunity to help chart the next stage in the journey of The Macallan. Under Scott’s leadership, The Macallan has demonstrated a constant pursuit of excellence and dedication to creating the finest single malt Scotch whisky.

Boyadjian will start his new role on 1 April  and will move to Scotland with his family in the summer.
