The Estée Lauder Companies names Jane Hertzmark Hudis as Executive Group President

Jane Hertzmark Hudis: Instrumental in building the Estée Lauder Advanced Night Repair and Crème de la Mer franchises

The Estée Lauder Companies (ELC) has promoted Jane Hertzmark Hudis to the role of Executive Group President, effective from 1 July.

In her elevated role, she will oversee the Estée Lauder, La Mer, Bobbi Brown, Aerin, Origins, Aveda, Bumble and bumble, Dr. Jart+ and Do The Right Thing brands. She reports directly to The Estée Lauder Companies President and Chief Executive Officer Fabrizio Freda.

The company said that Hertzmark Hudis will drive success in ELC’s highest growth categories and regions, particularly in China and APAC.

She was appointed Group President in 2016, becoming an enterprise-wide leader and helping to grow the crucial skincare category.

Hertzmark Hudis was instrumental in growing Estée Lauder to becoming the number one skincare brand globally, and La Mer as the number one luxury skincare brand, said the company. A known champion of ELC’s franchise strategy, she also helped build some of its most popular franchises, including the Estée Lauder Advanced Night Repair line and Crème de La Mer.

She previously served as Estée Lauder Global Brand President, where she helped to grow net sales more than +40%. She also previously served as President of Origins and BeautyBank.

An advocate for diversity, leadership development and workplace inclusivity, she also founded the ELC Women’s Leadership Network in 2017, an internal organisation designed to help women become leaders and mentors within the company. The network was created in partnership with Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer Tracey T. Travis and Vice Chairman Sarah E. Moss.

Today, the Women’s Leadership Network has been expanded to include over 2,000 members worldwide, with local chapters in the UK and France.

ELC President and CEO Fabrizio Freda commented, “This well-deserved promotion recognises Jane’s exceptional leadership across the company. Throughout her career, she has made a significant impact driving brand-building expertise, spearheading the elevation of marketing and talent, and leading her portfolio of brands to achieve outstanding broad-based growth across categories, regions and channels.

“I am grateful to Jane for all that she has done to drive the company’s success and as an advisor to me, and I know that she will continue to lead and inspire us to even greater heights in the future,” Freda added.
