INTERNATIONAL. As exhibitors continue to use the Virtual Travel Retail Expo during the bonus one-month post-show ‘encore’ period, we bring you more highlights from the Engagement Lounge sessions, featuring a dazzling array of launches, tastings, masterclasses and workshops.
L’Occitane hosted a ‘Cultivator of Change’ webinar, which tells the fascinating story of the company’s sustainability journey through the years.
The beautifully-filmed piece emphasises the traceability of L’Occitane’s raw materials, taking visitors on an immersive tour of its Almond, Verbena and Immortelle flower farms.
The inspiring video also outlines the six key principles of L’Occitane’s environmental programme. These are to respect biodiversity, fight pollution, support local producers, encourage women’s entrepreneurship, promote craftsmanship and to fight avoidable blindness.
It also underscores L’Occitane’s ambitious environmental, biodiversity and sustainability goals. By 2025, the company aims to reduce plastic materials across its value chain by 50%.
It also set an ambitious 3 x 100 target: which means that 100% of all plastic bottles will be made from 100% recycled plastic and that 100% of its stores will offer recycling services.
As reported, the company signed a multi-year agreement with recycled plastic producer Loop Industries to transition its entire range to 100% sustainable PET plastic by 2025. L’Occitane en Provence has also teamed up with Marseille-based environmental organisation Plastic Odyssey to launch an around-the-world expedition to fight plastic waste.
L’Occitane is still showcasing its ‘Reset & Fly’ strategy, which is the company’s 360° approach to COVID-era retail. The French wellness company is also underlining the core USPs of its natural beauty brand portfolio which includes L’Occitane En Provence, Erborian, Melvita and recently-acquired Elemis.
