UAE. Dubai-based fine wines and luxury spirits retailer Le Clos has unveiled a collection of rare and exclusive fine wines from French winemaker, Gérard Bertrand.
With a US$100,000 price tag, and containing 18 Legend Vintages, the collectible ‘Centenary Box’ is available exclusively at the Le Clos First Class Lounge store in Dubai International Terminal 3.
The collection is based on fortified wines discovered in the Roussillon wineries in the Pyrenees. The wines were preserved in oak barrels for decades before being identified and bottled.
To mark their discovery, and the culmination of a decade-long search, Bertrand created the Centenary Collection of 18 Legend Vintages, dating from 1875 to 1977.
The luxury oak wood creation, by Adam, a leading French wood packaging manufacturer, is styled in French royal furniture tradition and has 18 hidden drawers.
Each box contains laser-engraved individual cases for the selected vintages (1875, 1900, 1945 and 1969), and the Decanter Gold Medal-winning Rivesaltes 1977, 1974 and 1955. The box also contains two bespoke Riedel crystal glasses.
